i've been working with the children from waite end primary school in waterlooville, getting them to draw flowers, snails and birds from still life compositions. I've translated them into papercuts, the end purpose being a carpet design for their new public library. the colour scheme isn't one i'd naturally gravitate towards however it's also good to work to a restricted template, too much choice tends to take too much time. after many hours i've finally come up with these designs, which will be scanned and arranged digitally onto the floor before being printed onto carpet. how exciting. phase one underway.....
