st swithuns' cultures and civilizations art week w/c 20 may 2013

It's the beginning of art week at St Swithuns' school on the Arlesford Road in Winchester, I've been invited to spend the week with year 7 pupils exploring Indian and African traditional textiles.  The students have spent sessions working on drawing inspiration from mood boards and understanding and translating culturally relevant patterns to create their own designs in paper, before working on collaborative large scale work.
