crafty pint workshop - TramShed and Social Tooting.

Saturday was spent in Tooting SE London. It's always a surprise to go to new places to take workshops, I obviously know what I am doing when i get there, but the location, interior and people who are attending are always a mystery.  Tooting was hot and heaving, and I've never seen so many shops. It turns out that Tooting has the largest number of independent traders than any other London borough.

On arrival at the "tram shed" all expectations were exceeded. What an amazing place. As the name implies it's an old tram shed that's been converted into a cafe/pub, and also hosts events.  Crafty Pint hold their workshops there the first Saturday of every month.  This weekend was also special as it was part of 'Tootopia' a weekend celebration of food, creativity and beer.  The tram shed had been decorated for the occasion and as well as workshops was holding an artist/makers fair.

As tempting as it was to sit around and eat cake.....I got on with the workshop. I had a brilliant spot on the first floor balcony overlooking the ground floor bar area.  DJ's played all day and we sat and spent 3 hours drawing and translating our work into different papercuts, which we then scaled and arranged into finished collaged pieces.
