10 days, winchester, 'silent conversations'

This week I went down to Portsmouth university to learn how to digitise my work and translate it into laser cuts.  Complicated at first, learning new software always is, however the method is relatively simple; giving a clean, crisp and reliable finish. how boring! As fascinating as it is watching the technology working the outcome leaves me unnourished. The capability to endlessly reproduce with such precision takes away the mark and character of the work and the human element. It is however an interesting concept regarding ownership, authenticity and craftsmanship.
